Lock the app
Your wallet keys are stored encrypted on your phone. An app lock adds a second layer: even if someone picks up your unlocked phone, they can't open BESC Wallet.
Options
| Option | How it works |
|---|---|
| App passcode | A 6-digit code just for BESC Wallet. |
| Biometric unlock | Face ID or fingerprint, using your phone's built-in biometrics. |
| Both | Either one unlocks the app. If biometrics fail, you can switch to your passcode. |
You're offered these right after you create or import a wallet (Protect Your New Wallet). You can also set them up later in Settings → Security.
Set up a passcode
- Go to Settings → Security → App passcode.
- Enter a 6-digit code, then enter it again to confirm.
Once a lock is on, every send, swap, bridge and app signing request also asks for your biometrics or passcode before it goes through.
Turn a lock on
Without a passcode or biometrics, BESC Wallet asks you to review each transaction but doesn't ask who is approving it. Anyone holding your unlocked phone could send funds. Setting a lock takes 20 seconds.
If you forget your passcode
BESC can't reset it. Choose Forgot passcode? on the unlock screen to reset local wallet access. This erases the wallets stored on this phone, and you restore them with your recovery phrase or private key. Make sure you have those backed up before you rely on a passcode.
Auto lock
Settings → Security → Auto lock decides how soon the app locks again after you leave it:
| Setting | Locks after |
|---|---|
| Immediately | Every time you leave the app |
| 1 minute | 1 minute in the background |
| 5 minutes | 5 minutes in the background |
| 30 minutes | 30 minutes in the background (default) |
Change or remove
- Remove app passcode (Settings → Security) asks for your current code first.
- Turn Biometric lock on or off with its switch. If your phone has no biometrics set up, the switch is unavailable.
