Glossary
ABI: a contract's interface description (a JSON list of its functions). Launch Lab uses it to build forms for each function. See Contract console.
Address: your wallet's public identifier, like an account number. Safe to share for receiving.
Approval (allowance): permission you give an app to spend a specific token from your wallet. Review and revoke them in the Security tab.
Basis points (bps): hundredths of a percent. 100 bps = 1%. Launch Lab fees and limits use bps.
Bonding curve: a pricing formula that sells a new token directly from a contract, with the price rising as more is bought. pump.fun tokens start on a bonding curve before they have a normal DEX pool. See Launches.
Bridge: a service that moves value between networks. See Bridges.
BUSDC: USDC on BESC Hyperchain.
dApp: a decentralised application, such as an exchange or game running on a blockchain.
Destination tag: a number attached to an XRP Ledger payment that tells the receiver (usually an exchange) which customer it's for. Exchanges need it to credit your deposit; personal wallets don't. See Send.
ENS name: a readable name like name.eth that points to an Ethereum address.
EVM: the Ethereum Virtual Machine. EVM networks (BESC Hyperchain, Ethereum, BNB Chain, Base…) share address formats and tools.
Gas / network fee: the fee paid to the network to process a transaction, in the network's coin.
Graduation: when a token's bonding curve fills up and its liquidity moves to a regular DEX pool, where it trades like any other token. See Launches.
Hardware wallet: a separate device that holds your private key and signs transactions, such as Ledger or Keystone.
Holder Score: BESC Wallet's 0–100 trust score that unlocks bots. See Holder Score.
MEV: value extracted by reordering transactions, for example front-running or "sandwiching" a swap that's waiting in the public mempool. BESC Wallet's MEV protection sends swaps privately where that's possible (Flashbots Protect on Ethereum, PancakeSwap MEV Guard on BNB Chain, the Jito block engine on Solana). See Swap.
Memo: a short note attached to a transaction. On Cosmos Hub, exchanges use it to credit your deposit, so enter the one they give you. See Send.
Network (chain): a blockchain, such as BESC Hyperchain or Ethereum.
Liquidity (LP): tokens paired in a DEX pool so people can trade. Adding liquidity creates the market for a new token. See After you deploy.
Nonce: a counter that orders your transactions on EVM networks.
Price impact: how much your trade moves a pool's price. Big trades in small pools have high impact.
Private key: the secret that controls a single wallet. Never share it.
PSBT (Partially Signed Bitcoin Transaction): a standard format for a Bitcoin transaction that several parties can sign separately. Bitcoin dApps and marketplaces ask your wallet to sign the parts that spend your coins. See dApp browser.
Recovery phrase (seed phrase): 12 to 24 words that can restore your wallet on every network. The master key. Never share it.
RPC / node: the server the app uses to read the blockchain and send transactions.
Renounce ownership: permanently giving up a contract's owner permissions, so its settings can never change again.
Reserve (XRP Ledger): XRP that every XRP Ledger account must keep and can't send: a base amount plus an amount for each trust line or other object the account owns. BESC Wallet reads the current amounts from the ledger. See Send.
Self-custody: you hold your own keys; no company can move or freeze your funds.
SIWS (Sign-In With Solana): a standard way for a site to log you in by asking your Solana wallet to sign a short message. It doesn't move funds. BESC Wallet shows which site you're signing in to and warns if it doesn't match the page you're on.
Slippage: the most a price may move against you before a swap cancels.
Swapback: a token contract selling the fees it collected for the network's coin and sending the proceeds to the project's receivers.
Transaction hash: a unique ID for a transaction, used to look it up on a block explorer.
Verified contract: a contract whose source code is published on the block explorer and matches what's deployed. Launch Lab verifies its templates automatically.
Wallet Standard: a shared way for websites to discover and talk to wallets on Solana, Sui and Aptos. BESC Wallet registers itself through it in the dApp browser, so sites can list it as BESC Wallet.
Watch-only wallet: an address you follow without its key. It can't send.
WBESC: Wrapped BESC, BESC represented on other networks.
XMTP: the open, encrypted messaging network used by the On-Chain Mailbox.
