Networks and wallets

BESC Wallet can hold many wallets across many networks at once. Two buttons at the top of Home decide what you're looking at: the wallet and the network.

Supported networks

BESC Wallet supports 15 networks out of the box:

NetworkCoinFamily
BESC HyperchainBESCEVM
EthereumETHEVM
BNB Smart ChainBNBEVM
PolygonPOLEVM
Arbitrum OneETHEVM
OptimismETHEVM
BaseETHEVM
Avalanche C-ChainAVAXEVM
SolanaSOLSolana
BitcoinBTCBitcoin
TronTRXTron
Cosmos HubATOMCosmos
SuiSUISui
AptosAPTAptos
XRP LedgerXRPXRPL

Polygon's coin is shown as POL, its current name (it was previously called MATIC).

Switch network

Tap the network button (top right on Home). Search by name, symbol or chain ID, and pick one. The list shows how many of your wallets work on each network.

Everything follows the selected network

The network you pick decides what Home shows for the active wallet:

  • Balances: the coins and tokens on that network.
  • Activity: the transaction history on that network. See Activity.
  • NFTs: the collectibles on that network. See NFTs.

To see another network's history or NFTs, switch network. Something that "disappeared" is usually just on a different network.

Switch wallet

Tap the wallet button (top left on Home) to see the wallets that work on the current network. Each shows a badge: Active, Watch or Hardware. Tap one to make it active.

How wallets and networks fit together

  • One recovery phrase covers every network. When you create or import a wallet with a recovery phrase, BESC Wallet sets up that phrase's wallet on every network family (EVM, Solana, Bitcoin, Tron, Cosmos Hub, Sui, Aptos and XRP Ledger), all under the same name. The keys are derived and stored on your phone only. See One phrase, every network.
  • EVM networks share one address. A wallet on BESC Hyperchain has the same 0x… address on Ethereum, BNB Chain, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base and Avalanche, so it shows up on all of them.
  • Other networks have their own address format. Bitcoin, Solana, Tron, Cosmos Hub, Sui, Aptos and XRP Ledger each have their own address, all derived from the same phrase.
  • Private keys and watch-only addresses belong to one network. A wallet imported with a private key, or a watched address, only appears on the network family it was added for.

One phrase, every network

While a new or imported recovery phrase is being set up, you'll see progress such as Setting up Solana… 1 of 7. When it's done, the app tells you, for example Wallet created on every network from one recovery phrase. If one network can't be set up, the others still are, and you can add the missing one later.

Add a network from your recovery phrase

If you switch to a network where you have no wallet yet, and a recovery phrase is already on this phone, Home shows No [network] wallet yet with a button:

  1. Tap Add [network] From Recovery Phrase (for example Add Sui From Recovery Phrase).
  2. Approve with biometrics or your 6-digit app passcode, if you've set an app lock.
  3. The wallet is added from your phrase, under the same name, and selected. It stays on this phone.

Want a different wallet there instead? Tap Import A Different Wallet.

Bitcoin: every address type, found for you

A Bitcoin wallet restored from a recovery phrase checks all four common address types for funds, on both receiving and change addresses:

Address typeStarts withPath
Native SegWitbc1q…m/84'/0'/0'
Taprootbc1p…m/86'/0'/0'
Nested SegWit3…m/49'/0'/0'
Legacy1…m/44'/0'/0'

It keeps scanning until it finds 20 unused addresses in a row (the standard "gap limit"), so coins received by another wallet app at a later address are found too. Your balance is the total across all of them, and they can all be spent. Your receive address is the native SegWit bc1q… address, and change goes to the next unused native SegWit change address.

A Bitcoin wallet imported with a single private key checks all four address types of that key.

Send on the same network

Your BESC Hyperchain address and your Ethereum address look identical, but they're different networks. Tokens sent on Ethereum arrive on Ethereum, not on BESC Hyperchain. To move funds between networks, use a bridge.

Add a wallet

Open Tools → Add and choose Create new, Private key, Seed phrase or Watch only. See Create a wallet and Import or watch.

Manage wallets

Tools → Wallets lists every wallet on the phone. The ⋮ menu on each one lets you:

  • Activate Wallet
  • Rename Wallet
  • Copy Address
  • Export Private Key / Export Recovery Phrase (for wallets you control)
  • Remove From Device

See Back up, export, remove.

Custom networks

You can add your own network in Settings → Wallets & networks → Custom networks:

  • Type: EVM or Solana
  • Network name, chain key (a short ID, for example blast), native symbol
  • Chain ID (EVM only)
  • RPC URL and an optional explorer URL

Only use RPC endpoints you trust

The RPC is where the app reads balances and sends transactions. A malicious RPC can show you false balances.

Node settings

Settings → Wallets & networks → Node settings shows the RPC endpoint each network uses and how many backup nodes are ready. You can Copy RPC, Open Explorer, or Add RPC to use your own node. BESC Wallet automatically switches to a healthy backup node if one stops responding or falls behind.

BESC Wallet is self-custody software. You alone control your keys and recovery phrase.
